Hi everyone! We hope you are all doing well!

It is the beginning of May so it's time for our April favourites! For majority of the month, both of us were on term break so we had plenty of time to relax and study for our upcoming exams. So here we'd like to share some of our favourites of the month;

Carmen's favourites

St. Ives, Apricot Scrub, Fresh Skin

Exfoliating your skin should be an essential when it comes to your skincare routine. Exfoliating removes the top layer of dead skins and reveals a fresh layer of skin underneath. Throughout April, I've been using St. Ives Apricot Scrub as my exfoliator. This scrub contains natural ingredients compared to other exfoliators, so this ensures that I'm not rubbing a whole lot of chemicals onto my skin. There are small pieces of corn kernel meal in it so you do not have to scrub your face harshly to get the job done. I use this about 2-3 times a week and every time, it leaves my skin baby-butt smooth!

Rimmel London, The Max Volume Flash Waterproof Mascara

I've been needing a new mascara after using up my previous one so I decided to give this Rimmel London mascara a shot! I usually buy Maybelline's The Falsies Volume Express but after seeing 'our biggest brush yet!' on the packaging of this Rimmel London mascara, I hand gravitated towards it. I personally find that mascaras with thin brush bristles do not work well with my near non-existent lashes; I prefer mascaras with a big brush that can really lengthen and thicken my lashes. This mascara does a great job in doing both! It can look a little clumpy after a few coats but it's better than nothing when you're working with such short, straight lashes. A bonus of this mascara would be the waterproof formula!

Fujifilm, Instax Mini 8, white

A polaroid camera has been on a wishlist for a very long time and for my birthday, my lovely friends decided to purchase it for me! (Thank you so much!) I took my polaroid with me when I went to the beach the other day and took a few snaps! I absolutely love how there are different settings depending on what the lighting situation is. It is quite easy to use after reading the manual. These polaroids are a great addition to my inspiration cork-board in my room!

Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, Susan Jeffers

I have recently really been into self-motivation books and this book was one that had been sitting on my bookshelf for a while. This book is about changing your perspective on daily life situations and taking them on! There are different sections to the book, but my favourite section would have to be 'How Whole is Your "Whole Life"'. This section mentions how you can view the light in every situation and how you can live your life in positivity. I read this book everyday before I went to sleep and it put me in such a great mood. I instantly felt myself waking up happier and excited for the upcoming day ahead. I do believe that this book has changed my perspective and hopefully will mould me into a better person!

Distant Everyday Memories, TENMON

I believe this OST is from the anime 5 Centimetres Per Second. I haven't watched the anime but I have heard that it is an amazing film. I happened to come across this beautiful song on someone's blog and it immediately grabbed my attention. This piece is very emotional and just simply incredible. The entire album is absolutely beautiful but I'd have to say Distant Everyday Memories is my favourite! I find myself listening to this on repeat whilst drawing, sipping a cup of jasmine green tea and eating sliced apples. The only downfall I have about it is that it is so short! I wish it was longer because it is such a beautiful piece. Have a listen to it [ here ]

May's favourites

Migoals 2014 Diary Soft Cover

I started to use a diary this year to keep track of my life, i've been wanting to try using a diary for awhile now but  we're given diaries at school however as my life gets busier i couldn't fit everything in. After some searching i decided upon the migoals diary, i love how there are goals for each week and separate pages for long-term goals. While i was looking for a diary i wasn't just looking for a diary in which i could write dates and times, i was looking for a diary with space for me to write or even draw random creative ideas. The extra space for each week was really what stood out to me , i constantly write down random words and sketch ideas in this space and at the bottom are inspiring quotes for each week.

Vaseline Aloe Fresh Daily Moisturizer

This has been a life-saver for me, i recently had an allergic reaction and my skin has become really inflamed and dry. This moisturizer has aloe vera which is very hydrating and cools down inflamed skin. I have a large bottle for use after showering or washing my face in the morning and carry a small tube around to use during the day. Although it's getting colder, the cool feeling it gives as you put it on your skin is surprisingly relaxing. It also contains SPF 15 which is perfect for those days when you don't have time to put on sunscreen. I really recommend this moisturizer for anyone and especially for people with dry skin!

We hope you guys all had a fantastic week and look out soon for a little special post!

Love,

Carmen and May xo
