Although cardigans are an absolute must, chambray shirts are a classic. On the days in which I don't feel like dressing up, I'll throw on this chambray shirt. I love that you can wear this shirt either buttoned up and tucked into a pair of jeans, or you can wear it as a cardigan.
Here, I've paired an extremely casual and chill outfit. On trips to the groceries or a quick visit, I'll wear this outfit to look at least somewhat put together. I love to lounge around in trackies/sweatpants all the time. So here I'm wearing it with a cropped black tank top and chucked the chambray denim over. If it's particularly hot that day, I'll tie the shirt around my waist to add a more casual and sporty vibe.
Factorie crop tank, Factorie chambray shirt, Factorie trackies
Target Denim Top, MINK PINK Striped Top, Yesstyle Circle Skirt
This outfit is slightly more formal, especially with the darker toned denim shirt. I love the chambray/denim shirt as it can add that needed warmth yet not cover up everything you're wearing underneath. I'd wear this outfit if i was going out for a brunch, shopping with friends or even seeing a movie. Pairing the slouchy shirt with a fitted top contrast well and gives of a more relaxed vibe.
I know that to some I may have broken the fashion rule,
"no navy and black", but I honestly think that if you find a combination that works, go for it! Don't be afraid to experiment with textures, pattern and colour just because it's a "rule".
At the moment both of us are off exploring in Japan, but do not fear. We have heaps of posts lined up for you.
