Hi guys, it's the second installment of our basics series, today we have chosen black jeans. Black jeans are really an essential for any women, comfortable, versatile and always stylish. It's taken me a long time to find a pair of jeans which i like, this pair from UNIQLO are by far my favourite. The no 1. thing i look for in a pair of jeans is flexibility, or how stretchy they are , if they aren't flexible i stay far away from them.
I really do think every women or girl needs a pair of black jeans as there are countless ways in which they can be styled. Above, i have styled a relaxed yet slightly formal look. The black jeans are form fitting and contrasts well with the bright red and slightly over-sized sweater. I'm also wearing my favourite pair of boots and a ring. What makes this look slightly formal is the clutch, i'm a bit late on the clutch bandwagon, but i'm really loving how they make a simple outfit instantly glam. This clutch although mainly blue, has touches of red which ties it in with the dominant red sweater.

Black skinny jeans are an absolute essential for me as it is such a versatile piece. In fact, you will usually find me in a pair of jeans a majority of the time! Here, I've paired my black skinnies with a slightly oversized grey sweater tee. I love the casual factor the slouchiness and slight boxiness of the tee provides. I rolled my jeans above my ankle for a crisper look and wore my classic black ankle Doc Martens to further enhance the casual yet urban, chic style. Sticking to the casual style, I added a beachy texture to my hair and wore some sunnies. I think this outfit is perfect for brunch with friends in the CBD!
